Former Vinnie Vincent guitarist of Kiss has introduced a strikingly unconventional idea for releasing his long-awaited new music. Instead of distributing the record through streaming platforms or traditional labels, the guitarist is attempting to sell the entire album to a single buyer for $2 million.
The project, titled Guitarmageddon, has reportedly been completed after years of sporadic development. However, the public may never hear the music unless someone purchases the album under Vincent’s proposed terms. The guitarist has indicated that the record will remain unreleased unless he receives the financial compensation he believes the project deserves.
Selling an Album Like a Rare Artifact
The offer goes beyond simply handing over a collection of songs. The package includes ten finished tracks, along with artwork, promotional visuals, and production materials needed to manufacture and release the album. Whoever buys the project would effectively gain the ability to distribute the record, deciding whether it becomes publicly available or remains a private collector’s item.
The buyer would be able to release the music in formats such as vinyl or CD and determine how the songs are rolled out. Despite this freedom, Vincent would still retain certain levels of creative oversight regarding how the album is presented and marketed.
It is also important to note that the purchase would not automatically transfer ownership of Vincent’s copyrights or trademarks. Any control over those rights would require a separate agreement.
Individual Songs Also Available
For those unwilling to spend millions on the entire album, Vincent has also outlined another option. Each track from Guitarmageddon could be purchased separately for around $200,000, with similar conditions attached regarding distribution and use.
Once a track is purchased, the buyer would receive the master recording and artwork files needed to release the song independently if they choose.
A Long-Awaited Project
The guitarist has been working on material tied to Guitarmageddon for several years. Earlier attempts to introduce music from the project included extremely limited collector releases, which generated mixed reactions from fans due to their exclusivity and price.
With the full album now reportedly finished, Vincent’s new plan pushes the idea even further by treating the record almost like a high-value art piece rather than a conventional commercial release.
Will Anyone Step Forward?
Whether someone will actually pay the $2 million asking price remains uncertain. The concept appears aimed more at wealthy collectors, investors, or music industry figures rather than the general audience.
Until a buyer emerges, the future of Guitarmageddon remains unclear. If no deal is reached, the album could stay locked away indefinitely, leaving fans wondering what Vincent’s latest work actually sounds like.
