Iron Maiden, the legendary British heavy metal band, is commemorating its 50th anniversary with the release of an official documentary and a comprehensive visual history book. Both projects are slated for release in the fall of 2025.
Documentary: A Cinematic Journey Through Five Decades
The forthcoming documentary offers an emotive journey through Iron Maiden’s 50-year history, featuring exclusive interviews with current and former band members, including the late Paul Di’Anno, who passed away in October 2024. The film also includes insights from notable fans such as Metallica’s Lars Ulrich, KISS’s Gene Simmons, and actor Javier Bardem. In addition to rare archival footage, the documentary showcases new animated sequences of the band’s iconic mascot, Eddie, providing a unique visual experience that highlights Iron Maiden’s widespread impact and the strong connection between the band and their global fanbase.
Directed by Malcolm Venville and produced by Universal Pictures Content Group, the film is set to premiere in cinemas worldwide in autumn 2025. Iron Maiden’s manager, Rod Smallwood, expressed confidence that the documentary will resonate not only with music fans but also with anyone who appreciates stories of underdogs achieving remarkable success.
Book: ‘Iron Maiden: Infinite Dreams’
Complementing the documentary, Iron Maiden is releasing a visual history book titled “Iron Maiden: Infinite Dreams.” This official publication chronicles the evolution of the band over the past five decades, featuring unparalleled input from band members and management. The book promises a magnificent visual celebration of Iron Maiden’s journey, offering fans an intimate look into the band’s storied career.
