Since its formation in 2020, the band Eyes of Vriel has emerged strongly in Panama’s dynamic and vibrant metal scene. This quartet is made up of four talented musicians: Ángela Varela, who stands out on voice, guitar and synthesizers; Chuck Dorado on guitar; Ana Urriola on bass; and Kike Vásquez on drums. Although the band is relatively new, each of its members has a rich history in the musical field, having previously collaborated with renowned projects such as Athica and Komodo, which gives them a solid foundation and experience in the industry..

The first major milestone in Eyes of Vriel’s career came with the release of their official music video for the song “Failures.” This project was carried out under the direction of Comisariato Workshop, in collaboration with Víctor Arias, an artist who has represented Panama prominently at the famous Wacken Open Air festival in Germany. This video not only marked a turning point in their career, but also underscored the band’s commitment to visual storytelling and their desire to emotionally connect with their audience.
Continuing their focus on producing impactful visual content, Eyes of Vriel unveiled their latest music video titled “Intermission.” This new work, directed and edited by Cigarras Films, was released on November 16, 2024 and has managed to capture the attention of fans, reaching more than 13,000 views in a short period of time. This success reflects the growing interest and influence the band is generating in the region, as well as its ability to resonate with an increasingly broad audience.
Regarding their musical style, Eyes of Vriel have managed to develop a distinctive sound that masterfully fuses gothic metal with elements of alternative rock. His music is characterized by melodic and dark compositions that create deeply emotional atmospheres, inviting introspection and reflection. The band’s influences span legendary groups such as Katatonia, Opeth and Lacuna Coil, which has allowed them to forge a unique and authentic voice within the genre.
