Neal Schon, the renowned guitarist of Journey, recently found himself interacting with a parody account of Elon Musk on X (formerly Twitter). The account humorously claimed to have identified billions in government waste and posed a question about providing every American with a $5,000 refund. Taking the post at face value, Schon earnestly replied, “Prove it.”
The parody account continued its jesting by posting, “I love Japan! Should I learn Japanese?” Schon, maintaining the lighthearted exchange, responded, “Just get a computer chip.”
This isn’t Schon’s first foray into online interactions involving Musk. In 2022, he voiced his frustration over changes Musk implemented on Twitter, believing they hindered his ability to share or retweet free videos. He urged his followers to connect with him on Facebook or Instagram, attributing the platform’s alterations to Musk’s decisions.
Beyond social media, Schon’s political views have occasionally led to tensions within Journey. Notably, his attorney once sent a letter to the band’s keyboardist, Jonathan Cain, requesting he cease performing Journey’s songs at political events supporting Donald Trump.
Despite these occasional controversies, Schon’s passion for engaging in discussions on social and political matters remains evident, as does his penchant for interacting with prominent figures on platforms like X.
