After a comprehensive four-year investigation, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office has announced that Marilyn Manson, born Brian Warner, will not face criminal charges related to allegations of domestic violence and sexual assault. District Attorney Nathan J. Hochman stated that the domestic violence allegations fall outside the statute of limitations, and there is insufficient evidence to prove sexual assault charges beyond a reasonable doubt.
The investigation, which began in 2021, was prompted by multiple accusations against Manson, including those from actress Evan Rachel Wood. Despite the decision not to prosecute, Hochman commended the courage of the women who came forward, acknowledging their role in raising awareness about the challenges faced by survivors of domestic abuse and sexual assault.
Manson’s attorney, Howard King, expressed satisfaction with the outcome, stating, “We are very pleased that, after a thorough and incredibly lengthy review of all of the actual evidence, the District Attorney has concluded what we knew and expressed from the start: Brian Warner is innocent.”
In 2024, Manson returned to the music scene with his new album, One Assassination Under God – Chapter 1, and supported Five Finger Death Punch on tour. He has also announced his first U.S. headlining tour since 2019, with dates and ticket information available on his official website.
