A recent Bad Omens concert at Melbourne’s Festival Hall took an unexpected and dangerous turn when parts of the venue’s ceiling collapsed, injuring several fans. The incident occurred on January 22, 2025, during the band’s electrifying performance of their hit song “Just Pretend.”
The collapse was triggered when confetti cannons launched, dislodging ceiling panels that fell onto the crowd below. Disturbing footage captured the chaos as fans scrambled to assist those injured. One attendee reportedly sustained soft tissue damage and possible fractures to her hand, while another was covered in blood after debris struck a fellow concertgoer in the face.
Despite the commotion, the band continued their performance, seemingly unaware of the unfolding incident, and even delivered an encore. Many praised the swift arrival of paramedics at the scene, though some criticized the venue staff’s handling of the situation.
Festival Hall has yet to issue an official statement about the event or the safety measures for upcoming shows. This incident has left fans shaken, raising questions about the structural integrity of the venue and the safety of live music events.
