Aerosmith Members Set to Reunite at Steven Tyler’s Grammy Party
Exciting news for Aerosmith fans! Members of the legendary band are gearing up for a special performance at Steven Tyler’s sixth annual “Jam for Janie” Grammy Awards Viewing Party. The event is scheduled for February 2 at the Hollywood Palladium, with comedian Tiffany Haddish hosting the night. The lineup boasts rock icons like Billy Idol, Joan Jett, Joe Perry, Tom Hamilton, Linda Perry, Matt Sorum, and Nuno Bettencourt. While specific details about the Aerosmith reunion remain under wraps, reports highlight the involvement of Perry, Hamilton, and Tyler. Notably, guitarist Brad Whitford and drummer Joey Kramer were not mentioned. Kramer has been absent from full-time performances with the band since 2019, with John Douglas stepping in during their Las Vegas residency and the brief farewell tour.
Tyler initiated Janie’s Fund in 2015 to support girls and young women who have faced abuse. This year’s event will also extend its support to the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation and the Widows, Orphans, and Disabled Firefighter’s Fund, especially in light of the recent Southern California wildfires. Over 100 firefighters are expected to attend the event. Reflecting on the cause, Tyler stated, “What the Los Angeles community has endured with these wildfires is unthinkable. Music has healing powers, and we hope to bring a moment of joy and levity to our first-responder firefighters and those most affected by the fires.”
Testament’s Alex Skolnick Was Once on Standby for Megadeth
In a recent revelation, Testament’s guitarist Alex Skolnick shared that he was once on standby to fill in for Megadeth. During an interview, Skolnick discussed his experiences with Metal Allegiance and collaborations with various musicians. He mentioned that during the era of guitarist Kiko Loureiro, there was a possibility he might step in. Loureiro’s wife was expecting, and the band’s schedule was tight, leading them to consider a backup plan. Skolnick prepared by learning Megadeth’s songs and was ready to step in if needed. However, Loureiro managed to fulfill his commitments without missing any shows. Reflecting on the experience, Skolnick said, “I’ve always been friends with the Megadeth camp… I like my role as… occasional possible understudy.”
