Emerging in 2023, the dynamic duo Before My Time—comprising bassist and vocalist Abel Acevedo and guitarist Roland Sommerfeld—has been captivating audiences with their seamless blend of progressive metal and ’90s alternative rock. Their latest single, “A. Kaidanova,” exemplifies this fusion, delivering a powerful and atmospheric sound that’s both eclectic and intense.
The track draws inspiration from a poignant real-life event: a friend whose boyfriend took his own life unexpectedly, just when she believed everything was going well. This profound theme adds depth to the band’s already intense sound. In their creative process, Abel and Roland share composition and production duties, with Abel handling lyrics and graphic materials, while Roland oversees recording, mixing, and mastering.
“A. Kaidanova” joins previous releases like “Hirōkan,” “Showdown,” “C.A.F.,” and “Glass,” building anticipation for their debut album slated for a September release. Fans can look forward to upcoming tracks “Shiver” and “Not What I Wanted,” which promise to enrich the listening experience leading up to the album launch.
For those eager to experience Before My Time live, the band will perform on February 22, 2025, at RockLab in Coslada, Madrid, sharing the stage with Basque group Ms. Missery. Tickets are available for purchase online.
