Rock fans, get ready for an electrifying start to 2025! The iconic Alice Cooper is back on the road with an exciting new leg of his “Too Close For Comfort” tour. This time, he’s hitting the East Coast with eight thrilling dates across Georgia, North Carolina, Alabama, and Florida. The tour kicks off on January 31st in Augusta, Georgia, and wraps up on February 11th at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre in Florida.
In a surprising and exciting twist, former Guns N’ Roses guitarist Gilby Clarke will be joining Alice Cooper’s band for this leg of the tour. Clarke is stepping in for Nita Strauss, who’s currently committed to other projects, and was initially supposed to be replaced by guitar virtuoso Orianthi. However, Orianthi recently had to withdraw due to a series of health issues, including a torn hamstring and back problems. She shared her disappointment on social media, writing:
“I have a torn hamstring, hip and lower back issue which is very uncomfortable and unfortunate… I have been advised to not tour/travel. I hope to be back in 2025 stronger than ever.”
Although Orianthi will be missed, Gilby Clarke brings his own rock legacy to the stage. Best known for his stint with Guns N’ Roses during their early 1990s peak, Clarke has also built a reputation as a skilled guitarist and performer in his own right. His addition promises to add a fresh dynamic to Alice Cooper’s legendary live show.
This tour also coincides with a significant milestone for the Godfather of Shock Rock himself. On February 4th, Alice Cooper will celebrate his 77th birthday. When asked about his relentless passion for touring, Cooper shared his unwavering dedication to the stage:
“I feel great, and the band sounds great. I’ll be on stage at 90 if I’m still in good shape.”
With a career spanning over five decades, Alice Cooper continues to deliver unforgettable performances that blend theatrical spectacle with timeless rock hits. This leg of the “Too Close For Comfort” tour promises no less.
