Volbeat is charging back into the spotlight with the announcement of their ninth studio album, God of Angels Trust, scheduled to land on June 6, 2025. This release carries extra weight for the Danish rock powerhouse as it marks their first full-length work since parting ways with longtime guitarist Rob Caggiano in 2023. Fronted by the ever-driven Michael Poulsen, the band is embracing a sharpened, more urgent creative direction—fueled by a renewed fire in the studio and on stage.
Leading the charge is the explosive single By a Monster’s Hand, which dropped earlier this year and gave fans a first taste of the band’s intensified sound. With thunderous riffs and a dark, anthemic energy, the track sets the tone for an album that’s both fierce and cinematic—leaning into the band’s signature blend of heavy metal, rockabilly swagger, and larger-than-life choruses.
Michael Poulsen took full control of the production reins on this record and steered the songwriting into uncharted territory. Instead of overthinking arrangements, the band embraced spontaneity and raw instinct. The recording process was a whirlwind—completed in just 13 days—delivering the fastest and most impulsive Volbeat album to date. The urgency is audible across every track, capturing a live-wire energy rarely felt in modern studio albums.
This new chapter also coincides with Poulsen’s re-immersion into his death metal roots via his side project, Asinhell. While Asinhell channels his more extreme musical background, Volbeat’s upcoming material reflects a fusion of those early influences with the group’s classic rock foundation. It’s a collision of worlds that’s made this album feel more personal, more aggressive, and more unpredictable.
To support God of Angels Trust, Volbeat is launching a massive global run titled “The Greatest of All Tours Worldwide.” Kicking off on June 7 and running until mid-November, the 70-date tour is split into key regions. Canadian fans will witness a powerful co-headlining stretch with Three Days Grace and Wage War, while the U.S. leg features Halestorm and The Ghost Inside as support. For European dates, Volbeat will be joined by UK rock staples Bush and rising act Gel, offering a lineup that blends generations of hard-hitting sounds.
With a blistering new album in the pipeline and an unstoppable tour on the horizon, Volbeat is reaffirming their place among the modern giants of rock. God of Angels Trust is not just another entry in their discography—it’s a battle cry for everything they’ve become and everything they’re still chasing.
