Tim Lambesis, the frontman of metalcore band As I Lay Dying, is under intense scrutiny following the release of a troubling video. The footage, captured by home security cameras, shows Lambesis mistreating his dog in an attempt to get it to go outside. In the 30-second clip, Lambesis is seen delivering a kick to the dog and later spanking it while urging it toward the door.
This incident adds to a series of personal and professional challenges for Lambesis. In late 2024, several band members, including bassist Ryan Neff, guitarists Ken Susi and Phil Sgrosso, and drummer Nick Pierce, exited the band. These departures led to the cancellation of their European tour.
Compounding these issues, Lambesis’s ex-wife, Dany, has publicly addressed the leaked videos, denying involvement in their release and refuting Lambesis’s claims of abuse. She asserts that previous statements defending him were crafted by Lambesis and his management to protect his public image.
Lambesis’s past legal troubles are well-documented, including a 2013 arrest for attempting to hire a hitman to murder his estranged wife. Despite serving time and later reviving his music career, these recent events have cast a shadow over his reputation and the future of As I Lay Dying.
