Wes Scantlin, the lead singer and guitarist of the rock band Puddle of Mudd, was arrested on March 11, 2025, in Torrance, California, following an alleged domestic dispute with his girlfriend that escalated into physical violence. The incident reportedly occurred around 3:00 a.m. at Scantlin’s apartment, where police responded to a call about a fight. Upon arrival, officers observed visible marks on the woman’s arms, leading to Scantlin’s arrest. During a search, authorities also discovered a small amount of a controlled substance in his possession.
Scantlin was booked on felony charges of domestic violence and possession of a controlled substance, with bail set at $90,000. He was released on bond on March 15 and has court appearances scheduled for March 28 and April 15.
This arrest adds to Scantlin’s history of legal issues. Earlier this month, he claimed that a former bandmate had drugged him before a problematic performance at a charity event. In August 2024, he was involved in a standoff with a SWAT team after refusing to exit his vehicle during a traffic stop. He also has prior arrests for driving under the influence in 2015.
Puddle of Mudd, known for hits like “Blurry” and “She Hates Me,” continues to tour and produce music despite these challenges. Their latest album, “Ubiquitous,” was released in September 2023.
