British gothic metal icons Paradise Lost are officially back in action, lifting the veil on the first track from their next studio album and giving fans a long-awaited update on what’s to come. After months of silence, the band has returned with a brooding new single that previews the sonic weight and depth of their upcoming release.
The record, currently in the final production stages, was crafted at Orgone Studios in the English countryside. Known for its tranquil setting, the studio provided the perfect backdrop for the band to dive into darker, heavier territory. The album is shaping up to deliver a thunderous, rawer sound that channels the band’s early doom-death roots while pushing their signature melancholy into new dimensions.
With recording sessions now complete, including vocals, the final touches are being handled behind the mixing desk. The album is expected to drop in the early fall of 2025, aligning perfectly with a just-announced European tour.
Titled the Ascension of Europe Tour, the band’s return to the stage will kick off on October 9th in Manchester, UK, and snake its way through 22 cities before wrapping up on November 6th in Antwerp, Belgium. They’ll be joined by a killer lineup of support acts: Italy’s avant-doom group Messa, UK newcomers High Parasite, and German dark rockers Lacrimas Profundere on select dates.
This new phase promises to blend the haunting grandeur of Obsidian with the raw power that defined their early years—an evolution fans of Paradise Lost have been craving. Though the album title remains under wraps for now, early indicators point to a return to heavier, emotionally charged terrain.
For long-time followers and newcomers alike, this marks the beginning of what could be one of the most powerful chapters in Paradise Lost’s storied career.
