Geezer Butler, former bassist of Black Sabbath, has shared that Ozzy Osbourne is eager to reunite the iconic band for a final performance during his farewell show.
“Ozzy was talking to me about, when he does his farewell concert – which he still wants to do – he’s dying to still get out there and play,” Butler said in an interview with Lifeminute. “He suggested that, at his very final concert, the four of us get up onstage and maybe do three or four songs together. And that would be it, finished.”
Butler emphasized that this potential reunion would be a “one-off” event, ruling out any possibility of future tours.
When Was Black Sabbath’s Last Concert?
The last official concert by Black Sabbath took place in 2017. However, individual members have performed together since then, such as when Osbourne and Tony Iommi played “Paranoid” at the 2022 Commonwealth Games. The last full reunion of Osbourne, Iommi, Butler, and Bill Ward dates back to 2005.
Osbourne’s ongoing health challenges have kept him off the stage in recent years. Battling complications from back surgeries and Parkinson’s disease, the legendary frontman had to withdraw from the 2023 Power Trip festival. He also skipped performing at his Rock & Roll Hall of Fame solo induction this year, leaving the stage to a group of friends who honored him with renditions of his iconic work.
