Exciting news for rock enthusiasts! Memphis May Fire’s frontman, Matty Mullins, recently shared insights into the band’s upcoming album, Shapeshifter, set to release on March 28. In a conversation with Loudwire Nights, Mullins expressed the band’s enthusiasm:
“We’re really stoked about how it came out and stoked to give everybody the album as a full package, even though a lot of the songs have had their own spotlight to be digested.”
Reflecting on the band’s journey, Mullins emphasized their gratitude for every opportunity:
“I think having been a band that didn’t really have much just handed to us, every press opportunity, every tour, every post on social media, it’s exciting and there’s a sense of gratitude attached to it. I feel so thankful.”
Interestingly, Mullins revealed that he doesn’t have time to feel anxious about the album’s release, as he’s also touring with Anberlin for their “20 Years of Never Take Friendship Personal” tour. He shared,
“These days, I don’t even have time to be anxious anymore.”
He believes staying busy helps him stay focused and present:
“It’s good to be busy and to be focused. Right now, as a person, I am really focused on trying to be present in the moment and trying to feel things as they’re happening.”
Mullins also hinted at exciting developments for fans, mentioning there’s “something” taking shape this year that he can’t talk about — but for fans who are wondering if he’ll be “part of” some certain things, the answer is yes.
As the release date approaches, fans can look forward to experiencing the full depth of Shapeshifter and catching Memphis May Fire on tour.
