Renowned director Ridley Scott might have spilled the beans on one of the stars of the upcoming Beatles biopics.
Who Will Play Paul McCartney?
Earlier this year, it was announced that a series of four biopics, dubbed the “Beatles Cinematic Universe” by Rolling Stone, are in development. Each film will focus on the life of a single Beatle, and now, speculation about who will portray Paul McCartney seems to have intensified.
During a Los Angeles screening of Gladiator II, Scott was asked about his next project, The Dog Stars, and whether he would work with Gladiator II star Paul Mescal again. Scott responded, “Maybe. Paul is actually stacked up, doing the Beatles next. So I may have to let him go,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.
This comment aligns with previous rumors that Irish actor Paul Mescal would take on the role of McCartney.
The Cast of the Beatles Biopics
Other rumored cast members include Barry Keoghan (Saltburn), reportedly playing Ringo Starr. Starr himself hinted at Keoghan’s preparation, stating in an interview that the actor was “somewhere taking drum lessons, and I hope not too many.”
Additionally, Charlie Rowe (Rocketman) is rumored to portray George Harrison, while Harris Dickinson (The Iron Claw, Where the Crawdads Sing) is expected to step into the role of John Lennon.
Directed by Sam Mendes, the highly anticipated biopics promise an intimate look into the lives of the Fab Four, with a star-studded cast that’s already generating buzz.
