Max and Igor Cavalera are diving deep into their roots and bringing back the primal power of early Sepultura with a tour that’s more than just nostalgia—it’s a resurrection. The legendary brothers are hitting the road in 2025 with the Third World Trilogy Tour, revisiting the brutal beginnings of the band that changed the face of metal in the late ’80s.
The trilogy highlights re-recorded and live renditions of Bestial Devastation, Morbid Visions, and Schizophrenia—three albums that laid the groundwork for the extreme metal scene in Brazil and beyond. Speaking in a recent interview, Max Cavalera explained that the motivation behind the project was rooted in both love and legacy.
“We never had the chance to make those albums sound the way we dreamed back then,” Max shared. “Now we can finally do it justice—raw, powerful, but with the production it always deserved.”
The tour isn’t just about giving old-school fans a treat. It’s also a chance to set the record straight about the true spirit of Sepultura. While the band continues under a different lineup and is preparing to disband, Max made it clear that what he and Igor are doing is entirely separate from that farewell.
“They still call it Sepultura, but everyone knows it’s not the same,” Max stated. “This isn’t about what they’re doing. This is about what we created—me and Igor—and how we want to honor it our way.”
Their mission? Keep the flame alive by revisiting the music that came straight from their gut, driven by passion and rebellion. “We’re not just playing the songs,” Max added. “We’re preserving something sacred to us. That era meant everything—it was dirty, dangerous, and beautiful.”
With thunderous performances and a whole new level of intensity behind the classics, the Third World Trilogy Tour promises to be more than a concert series—it’s a metal rite of passage.
