Billy Corgan, the legendary leader of The Smashing Pumpkins, is launching a new solo project titled Billy Corgan and the Machines of God. This venture will take him across North America in a tour kicking off on June 7 in Baltimore, Maryland, and wrapping up on June 29 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The concerts will commemorate key milestones in The Smashing Pumpkins’ history, including 30 years of Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness and 25 years of Machina/The Machines of God and Machina II/The Friends and Enemies of Modern Music.
Corgan has assembled a fresh lineup for this project, featuring guitarist Kiki Wong, drummer Jake Hayden, and bassist Kid Tigrrr (Jenna Fournier). Fans can expect a setlist packed with deep cuts and classics from The Smashing Pumpkins’ extensive catalog, blending nostalgia with new energy.
In addition to the tour, a remixed and remastered edition of the Machina albums will be released in a massive 80-song box set. This exclusive collection will only be available at Madame Zuzu’s, Corgan’s tea shop in Highland Park, Illinois, offering dedicated fans a rare and comprehensive look at these landmark albums.
To top it all off, Corgan is teaming up with Chicago’s Lyric Opera for a seven-show residency titled A Night of Mellon Collie and Infinite Sadness. Running from November 21 to 30, 2025, this unique event aims to merge rock and opera, delivering a completely reimagined experience of Mellon Collie through an immersive theatrical performance.
