Danish rock heavyweights Volbeat are back with a bang—and this time, they’re bringing the bizarre, the bold, and the downright hilarious. Their latest single, provocatively titled “In The Barn Of The Goat Giving Birth To Satan’s Spawn In A Dying World Of Doom,” is a twisted, tongue-in-cheek ride that blends pounding riffs with theatrical storytelling.
The track teases what’s to come on their upcoming studio album, “God Of Angels Trust,” due to land on June 6, 2025. And from the sound of this first release, fans can expect a mix of apocalyptic fantasy and offbeat fun, served with Volbeat’s signature rock swagger.
Michael Poulsen, the band’s charismatic frontman, shared the inspiration behind the wild lyrics:
“I just let my imagination run loose. It’s about the exiled angels—those cast out of Heaven—and they’ve asked me to pick them up in a carriage and take them to this barn… where the unthinkable is happening.”
He jokingly added that this strange setting might even be his idea of a romantic evening:
“Forget going to the movies—I’m taking my date to witness the birth of Satan’s spawn while the world crumbles. Now that’s a night to remember.”
The new single doesn’t just serve heavy grooves—it also flaunts Volbeat’s flair for turning darkness into entertainment. It’s tongue-in-cheek, a little outrageous, and completely addictive.
Alongside the new music, the band also announced a mini-tour across Spain this October, bringing along special guests Bush and Gel for the ride. Here are the confirmed dates:
- October 28 – Bilbao (Cubec)
- October 30 – Barcelona (Sant Jordi Club)
- October 31 – Madrid (Palacio Vistalegre)
With the new single already stirring buzz and a tour on the horizon, Volbeat is diving headfirst into 2025 with style, substance, and a devilish grin.
