Exciting news for rock enthusiasts! Aerosmith is reuniting for a special performance at Steven Tyler’s 6th Annual Jam for Janie Grammy Awards Viewing Party. This event is scheduled for February 2, 2025, at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles. The evening will be hosted by comedian Tiffany Haddish and will feature performances by renowned artists such as Billy Idol, Joan Jett, Linda Perry, Matt Sorum, and Nuno Bettencourt.
This reunion marks Aerosmith’s first performance since their retirement from touring in August 2024. The band had to step back due to frontman Steven Tyler’s vocal injury, which he sustained during a September 2023 show. Bassist Tom Hamilton recently shared that Tyler’s healing is progressing well, though at its own pace. He emphasized that any future activities would depend on Tyler’s readiness.
The Jam for Janie event supports Janie’s Fund, an initiative founded by Tyler to aid young girls who have suffered abuse and neglect. This year’s event will also benefit the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation and the Widows, Orphans, and Disabled Firefighter’s Fund, in light of the recent wildfires in Southern California. More than 100 firefighters are expected to attend the event.
While the exact lineup for the Aerosmith performance hasn’t been fully detailed, reports highlight the participation of Steven Tyler, guitarist Joe Perry, and bassist Tom Hamilton. There’s no official word yet on the involvement of guitarist Brad Whitford or drummer Joey Kramer. Kramer has been absent from full-time performances with the band since 2019.
This anticipated reunion not only brings joy to fans but also supports meaningful causes, showcasing the enduring spirit of rock ‘n’ roll and the band’s commitment to making a positive impact.
