The charismatic lead singer of Måneskin, Damiano David, took a bold step in his musical career in September 2024 by debuting as a solo artist with singles “Silverlines” and “Born With a Broken Heart.” However, venturing into a solo project wasn’t without its challenges and fears.
In an interview on the Zach Sang Show, Damiano revealed the apprehensions he faced while embarking on this new chapter without the support of his band. “Yeah, of course… because from the moment I said I wanted to make an album to when I started making it, only five days had passed. I didn’t even have time to feel scared. Five days later, I was alone in a huge house in West Hollywood with a songwriting session scheduled. I told myself, ‘Okay, I guess I have to show up and just do it.’ At first, I felt very uncomfortable. That ‘fake it till you make it’ attitude helped me a lot.”
The creative process brought him face-to-face with self-doubt about his abilities to execute the project. “I was scared. At some point, I wanted to go back. I was like, ‘What am I doing? Why am I making an album on my own? Am I ready? Am I capable? Do I like too many things? Is this album going to sound crazy?’”
Despite these doubts, Damiano chose to push forward, encountering a mix of challenges and inspiring moments. “And then, at one point, I realized this is exactly what I needed to do, and then crazy stuff started happening. Labrinth showed up. I had sessions with insane people. Unfortunately, some didn’t make it to the album because they were jerks, but I worked with incredible talents.”
The response from fans has been overwhelmingly positive. Following the announcement of his first solo concerts scheduled for September 2025 in Barcelona and Madrid, ticket demand was so high that the venues were upgraded to larger spaces. Tickets are still available on Damiano David’s official website, but they’re selling fast.
Damiano’s solo venture highlights his desire to explore new artistic horizons and confront his fears, showcasing his unwavering dedication to music and his growth as an artist.
