Swedish melodic death metal legends Arch Enemy have unleashed their twelfth studio album, Blood Dynasty, marking a new era for the band. Released on March 28, 2025, this record is the first to feature guitarist Joey Concepcion, who stepped in after Jeff Loomis’s departure in 2023.
The album’s artwork, designed by Alex Reisfar—who previously worked on Will to Power (2017) and Deceivers (2022)—delivers a dark, detailed visual style that mirrors the intensity of the music. Guitarist Michael Amott described Blood Dynasty as a powerful evolution of the band’s sound, promising fans both familiar elements and fresh surprises.
One of the standout tracks is a cover of “Vivre Libre,” originally by French heavy metal band Blasphème. Amott, a longtime fan of obscure metal records, was drawn to the song’s unique energy, and with Alissa White-Gluz’s fluency in French, the band brought a fresh perspective to the classic track.
The album’s promotional campaign kicked off with the surprise release of “Dream Stealer” on July 31, 2024, followed by “Liars & Thieves,” which was first played live during the Rising from the North tour alongside In Flames and Soilwork. The title track, “Blood Dynasty,” dropped on December 4, 2024, with a striking music video premiering on the band’s YouTube channel.
Arch Enemy continues to push the boundaries of their sound, and Blood Dynasty cements their place at the forefront of modern melodic death metal.
