The new single My Only Angel brings together Aerosmith legends and Yungblud, but there’s a fourth name in the writing credits that’s outside the usual duo. That person is Matt Schwartz — a producer/songwriter whose roots are far more in dance and pop than classic rock.
Schwartz has been working behind the scenes for years, contributing to electronic, pop, and remix projects, especially in the UK. Over time, he’s expanded toward rock-adjacent work, and My Only Angel marks one of his recent entries into a more guitar-driven, collaborative setting.
In addition to steering production duties on the track, Schwartz played a full role in crafting it alongside Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler and Joe Perry, plus Yungblud. The result is a song that blends Aerosmith’s signature swagger with Yungblud’s more modern edge — and Schwartz’s touch helps bridge the gap between those worlds.
This is part of an upcoming EP called One More Time, due November 21. The lead track, My Only Angel, also demonstrates how classic rock acts are collaborating with newer voices and outside writers/producers to stay fresh while honoring their past.
